Linda Pate MBACP
Therapist at Mossy Cairn Counselling
(pronouns: she/her)

Welcome

I am currently taking new clients with availability on Fridays during the day.

Hello, my name is Linda Pate and I am a qualified Counsellor (also referred to as 'Therapist'), with a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). You will find me on the BACP Therapist Directory, the Counselling Directory, and LinkedIn. Prior to going into private practice I gained experience working in the NHS Staff Counselling Service, Healthbox CIC Counselling Service, and Douglas Macmillan Hospice Bereavement Service.

I created Mossy Cairn Counselling because I am passionate about the power of counselling, which is a type of talking therapy, to help people feel and live better. I have experience of working with a variety of problems and personal challenges. These include bereavement and loss, relationship issues, anxiety, panic attacks, work stress, preparing for retirement, ill health, issues with food, problems linked to past trauma, and perimenopause & menopause.

If you are going through an emotionally difficult time, or you want to make changes to live more authentically and feel better about yourself, I can support you through this. I provide a safe and confidential space to explore your experiences and personal challenges, I will listen to you without judgement, and I may suggest tools and strategies to help you cope better, depending on your needs and preferences.

Finding the right therapist is important, so that you feel safe and connected with them. This is why I offer a free introduction session for us to meet, discuss your reasons for seeking counselling, and decide together if I am the right therapist for you.

If you are curious about the name ‘Mossy Cairn’, I explain the meaning behind this personal metaphor here: Mossy Cairn Meaning | Mossy Cairn (mossycairncounselling.co.uk).

Please get in touch if you would like to take the next step and book an introduction session.
